Chag Pesach Sameach — Happy Passover to all who celebrate!

Passover is the holiday of freedom — a time when we retell the story of liberation from oppression and recommit ourselves to the values of dignity and justice for all people.

And yet, as we gather around our seder tables this year, we cannot look away from the reality facing many of our Palestinian friends and neighbors in the West Bank. Freedom — the very thing we celebrate — remains painfully out of reach for so many. Alongside the ongoing restrictions on movement and daily life, we are witnessing acts of settler violence that can only be called what they are: terrorism. The so-called “Hill Youth” and other extremist groups are burning homes, destroying livelihoods, and terrorizing communities — with what amounts to tacit backing from within the Israeli government itself. This is a profound moral failure, and it must be named as such.

Their struggle for freedom and justice is our struggle. We at Sulha do not look away, and we do not stay silent.

We have chosen the path of nonviolence — not out of indifference, but out of a deep commitment to a future where no one is harmed. We believe that lasting change is built through truth, encounter, and the stubborn refusal to dehumanize.

So we keep showing up. Israelis and Palestinians, together in Sulha gatherings, bearing witness to each other’s humanity. Building — slowly, imperfectly, persistently — the foundation of a future grounded in peace, dignity, and justice for everyone.

This Passover, may the story of liberation remind us all: freedom is only complete when it is shared.
