From Despair to Opportunity: Building Hope with Young Palestinians

If we can move, laugh, weep, and eat together—we can help each other heal.

On Sunday, the Sulha Peace Movement met with a group of inspiring young Palestinians from the Al-Fawwar refugee camp near Hebron.

Many hold degrees and certifications, but since October 2023, the loss of work permits has stripped their families of income, leaving behind frustration and hopelessness.

Together, we are building a practical pathway forward. We are launching a program to train these talented young people in professional architectural drafting. Through Sulha’s network, we will connect them directly with Israeli architecture firms for high-quality remote work.

But this is about much more than employment. Through community-building, mutual support, and personal development, this initiative will help restore confidence, purpose, and hope where it is needed most.

The meeting left us inspired. Despite enormous challenges, these young people showed us the true meaning of resilience and determination.

Transform despair into opportunity. Turn hope into action.
