A couple of days before the war

Two days before the rockets returned to the sky – we met.
One hundred people, Israelis and Palestinians, in Area C of the West Bank, near the Dead Sea. We sat together, talked, listened, and sang.

We learned a heart-to-heart song in four languages – Arabic, Hebrew, English, and sign language – guided by “Officer Maybe” from the Police of Hearts. We took part in a Spoken Word workshop led by Yonatan Kunda. We sat in listening circles. We enjoyed live bilingual music. And we shared an Iftar meal together – with a few words about the values of peace during Ramadan.
In those hours, together, we were given the opportunity to imagine what shared life could look like – when peace comes.
Inshallah, soon.
None of this would be possible without the support of generous people who believe in peace and reconciliation. Help us keep these gatherings going and expand the circles of Sulha.
